Homemade California Burritos


Indulge in the ultimate fusion of flavors with our California Burritos! These homemade California burritos are packed with seasoned carne asada, crispy fries, creamy guacamole, tangy salsa, and melted cheese, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Perfect for a deliciously satisfying meal that captures the vibrant essence of California cuisine.


Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb. Flank Steak, sliced thin

  • Season with Carne Asada seasoning (See below)

  • 8 – 10 Burrito-Sized Tortillas

  • 3 cups Monterey Jack, shredded

  • 28 oz. Bag Frozen French Fries

  • 4 tbsp. Chopped Cilantro

  • Pico de Gallo

  • Guacamole


Carne Asada Seasoning:

  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder

  • 1 Tablespoon oregano

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1 Tablespoon chipotle chili powder (or paprika)

  • 1 teaspoon mild chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon Tajín (optional )

  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 teaspoons table salt


Instructions:

  1. Season the meat with the Carne Asada seasoning

  2. Bake the French fries according to package directions.

  3. While the fries bake, cook the meat to desired temperature. This can be done in a large cast iron skillet on the stove or grill over medium heat.

  4. To assemble, warm the tortillas and then add a layer of sliced steak, cheese, French fries, Pico de Gallo, a spoonful of the guacamole, a sprinkle of cilantro and green onions. Fold into a burrito shape. Repeat until all tortillas have been used. If desired, sear the exterior tortilla of each burrito in a frying pan until browned. Enjoy immediately.
